Great book for 1 grader. It was a easy book for my son.
Success is measured by one's relationships as a family member, as a community member, and as a member of the human race. There is no indication that Douglass did anything that was altruistic or beneficial to anyone beyond himself. The poorly written text is boring and disjointed to the point of distraction.
