This book has saved me hundreds of hours in generating a complete light aircraft preliminary design. It can be read cover to cover, and while the concepts can be quite difficult to grasp, the topics are covered by the author thoroughly and without unneeded complexity. An engineer of any discipline can work through this with enough time invested. The examples are invaluable and can help the dedicated individual create a spreadsheet of design parameters, information, and plots with dependencies before moving on towards detailed design. This book will continue to be a reference for me. If you are at all interested in the preliminary design process or a clean sheet design for an aircraft (specifically homebuilt or 14 CFR Part 23) look no further.Note: There are a few computational, grammatical, and spelling errors. Ask the author for the errata and he will provide it!

Only 25 pages in but so far, this book has been a pleasure to read! I thought it would be a dry engineering book and held off reading it for a few weeks, but every sentence is written clearly and concisely. I'm at the project management section (first section), and so far everything written in the book seems to be valuable advice that I wished I would have known before starting some of my other projects. Highly recommend! It looks like a good balance between advice and pure technical knowledge

This is a fantastic compilation of current information on pretty much all aspects of light aircraft design - including cost modeling and the Eastlake cost model - both very hard to find in conventional sources for airplane design. I may write another review after more time with the text, but it looks thorough, with numerous examples. review qualification: I am a 15+ year professional aircraft design engineerOne complaint: After some debate, I bought the hard copy because I like physical books, but found out too late that they printed only in black and white! The online version has very nice colour illustrations.

This book is awesome. I bought this after I graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering. Definitely worth having if you work on GA aircraft, or if you're just interested in the area.

I'll start with the cons. I assume this is true for every engineering book in kindle format. The pictures are difficult to see on my laptop. There's no way zoom into a picture with a laptop and a lot of important information are displayed on pictures.Pros: I am currently using this for senior design and it is very helpful. This book has more information on wingtips and winglets than Raymer, Roskam, Schuafele, and Nicolai. (With the versions I used at least). It also a section on different tail configurations such as V-tail, Y-tail and other interesting ones. I wish I used this book during the beginning of the school year. I highly recommend this for air design.

The books seem to be well organized but for me the price was steep and was way to advanced for me math formula after math formula seem to have me falling further down a rabbit hole that I couldn’t grasp

I've only scratched the surface of this book but so far it's very comprehensive. Note: print version doesn't have color pictures, graphs, or data.

He discloses how he heard about this murder and why it's fascinated him enough to write a book about it. The 1925 death of Buddy Schumacher is described skillfully. Hoffman even points out how the local media covered it and why they covered it the way they did.Hoffman does his own homework too. He performs extensive research, dusting off records and archives. It's done with a professional standpoint giving you the impression that Hoffman may have given us the most complete account of a mystery that may never be solved.You need a strong heart to take this journey with Hoffman. But it's well worth re-reading it to make sure you haven't missed anything in the little details. It's what makes Hoffman good at his craft.

Growing up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin (a Milwaukee suburb,) author Paul Hoffman heard about the 1925 death of Buddy Schumacher from an elderly neighbor who had known the boy. In fact, Hoffman's parents had bought the family home from Schumacher's parents.It's no wonder, then, that as an adult he would bring his professional journalist's eye to the decades-old unsolved case of the boy who was abducted and murdered on a trip to the local swimming hole. Speaking with family members and digging through records both dusty and digital, Hoffman weaves together the sensationalist headlines of the day, all the gritty details, and a broader historical perspective to assemble a more complete accounting of the facts than was known by most of the contemporaries.You won't learn "whodunnit" in these pages, but you'll wish Hoffman had been there to interview the players at the time - or at least to review the evidence before many of the records were destroyed.It is both an absorbing tale of a human tragedy, and a microcosmic history of a region and period. It's a quick read, and hard to put down - I highly recommend it.

This well-written, well-researched true crime story has been a fascinating read. I particularly like that it advocates awareness for problems that still exist today, child abuse/rape/murder and the tragic circumstances of the mentally ill. These issues need to be continually addressed in our society

Having grown up in Tosa and graduating from Wauwatosa East High high school, I had to read this book! It was a sad story but well told. I felt oddly at home as I read this tragedy. Having grown up just one block from Hillcrest, I was unaware of the tragedy. Good story which brought home many memories from my youth. Thanks to the author for bringing it to light.

I thought the book was very well written. I could tell he did a lot of research in order to reach some of the conclusions he had. At times I wish some chapters were longer but that was a personal opinion. The average person might have thought everything was sufficient. The research of doing 1925 material and finding such facts of his friends at age 8 and 9, interviewing persons that were still living and telling us facts of this murder. Great job.

This is a book about a 1920s murder by a former reporter for the Milwaukee Sentinel where I once toiled as a journalist. Mr. Hoffman has a story better told in a shorter format but extends it considerably and somewhat tiresomely. He is not a particularly fluent writer or gifted story teller. Yet he does provide the backdrop of that period in Wawatosa, Wisconsin (where I lived for a time) and Milwaukee.

I enjoyed reading this book as it is a true account of a missing boy from my childhood town in 1925. Sad story that includes local media and police reports from that time period.

Love this book. Grew up a block away from the house.

This was a fast read and well worth the time. Luke Gromen outlines in a clear and concise way a plausible path to resolve the sovereign debt crisis that is fast upon us. If you are not very familiar with the ‘Free gold’ concept, this is required reading.

If you are looking for a potential roadmap for the fiscal future of The US, this is the book to read. Luke, through the interview process with fictional Mr. X, lays the groundwork as to how the US has gotten to its present fiscal state and the potential outcomes of our choices. Quick read with charts and links to source interviews and quotes (kindle version).

The Global Monetary System Reset will begin in 10...9...8..7... , well, it doesn't really work that way. The Reset is a process, not an event. A large part of what has taken me years to figure out has been made accessible by Luke Gromen in this book. I like the Q&A format, its like listening in on a conversation instead of a lecture. I'm very much looking forward to future volumes.

It was quite a experience read this book. Very consistent and coherent... the kind of ideas that we need to a better understandment.

Having first read Lords of Finance by Liaquat Ahamed, and now this, I’m very confident in asserting that there is not a better 1-2 punch of a reading list for very quickly coming up to speed on where we are today with the global monetary system & its financial market.Great work by Luke, please read.
