Amazing book. As a transplanted Clevelander, I was thrilled to read about the rackets in Cleveland. I saw pictures of mobsters that I would see on the local news and walking the streets as I was growing up. It lead me to other books on the same subject.

Porello documents the Cleveland Mob in such a way that "rounds out" the inner workings of the Mafia in the US and how each city is so interconnected. I wish someone would write a novel about the early Philly Mob in the 20's and 30's.

Good book on the old school Mafia where if you made a mistake it costs you with your life.And if you were lucky enough to survive you abide by the code.Not like today's breed that will save their own skin at any cost.The Author did a good job.He made no excuses for the actions of his family but revealed it as a part of his family's history.

this is an important book that tells the history of how the Cleveland mob was a powerhouse in the national syndicate. it also informs the great book on the L.A./Hollywood underworld that I recently read, Mickey Cohen by Tere Tereba, who was apparently born in Warren, Ohio. These important players stayed hidden behind the scenes when Cleveland was one of the major cities, and their grip is now finally revealed.

This is a very good book about the history of the Cleveland mafia. As a genealogist it is important for me to have the facts and this books shows me that a family story is very true. Having this book also give me the chance to learn more about that era in Ohio.

After watching the documentary about the subject on TV he wanted to know more about the subject.Read from cover to cover. He found it compelling and a thoroughly interesting revelation of a ;lesser known crime syndicate.

The story keeps your interest. Any fan of Cleveland and Mafia lore will enjoy this book. The story was well researched, but occaisionally lacked detail and depth. As the decades continued, the specifics got more sparse and general. While I enjoyed the book, this one aspect left me a little disappointed. Still worth your money at the price it is at. Recommended!

well written, though the jump from the early days of prohibition to the end of Angelo Lonardo's stint in LCN was a bit sudden and i would have liked to see more of what happened in the 60's and 70's in Cleveland.

If you have young readers up to tweens that are not really big on reading, but you want them to read more, this is a nice choice. Rather than having to read a whole, long book that might not grab their attention, this has small articles about current events around the world and a lot of pop culture. They can easily read a few pages a night and not feel bogged down by reading. It is full of nice color photos to. Reads more like a magazine than a book.

I bought this as a gift for a ten year old. It arrived on time, in new condition of course, and has been well received by the recipient. Amazon has always been so excellent to deal with. I highly recommend anything they sell.

A wonderful story line. A novel of many lives thrust together from the times they are living ... it all takes place in the mid 1800's near Tucson Arizona with the Apache raids to stop the migration of the whites. There is some great historical names and events that are talked about.The stories talk about some of the cruelty of the times, and go into far too much detail on the sex and battles leaving little to your imagination, a real shame because the story line is great.

I liked the idea of this story even though there were some terrible torturous pages about what had happened to a young woman when her stage coach was attacked by Apache renegades. Some of it was just too hard to read. And, the descriptions went on and on and on. I found myself skimming.around the 25 th chapter wondering when this story would end. It was pretty predictable (except for the inherited white streak in the baby's hair.) I would have enjoyed a more condensed version. As it was, there were 36 chapters and a lot of repetition Pretty good on the history part. I did learn some things about the Tucson area and Cochise in the 1860's

I bought this book some years ago as a paperback & LOVED the series, normally when I buy paperbacks after reading them I donate to my local library, THIS series I kept through many house moves & they still take pride of place on my bookshelf.. so I am thrilled to see this book in kindel format..the perfect excuse to read it again. I love Dani's story & how she is strong after all the hardship she went through, I love how this series of books follows on to the next while still maintaining the characters & family of the previous ones. Janis Reams Hudson brews the perfect mix of history & romance in my opinion & is always an author I watch for. Travis ...well what can one say about Travis, my Nan would say "you wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating Taytos" & I have to agree. Please write another series JRH as my only complaint is 6 books is just not enough !

I am not one that tells you the story line of the book. But what I want to tell you is that you will not be sorry after you get this book. I have bought all kinds of Westerns to Cowboys and Indian books. And this book plus the rest of the 5 books that becomes the series, will have all the action, terror, romance, and a lot of great History that is NOT boring! This author puts all of that into a series of books that you can't put down. It's like a continued movie that keeps playing until the last book in the series is read. I purchased the first 2 books and after the first few pages, I knew I was hooked on this beautiful family. The Colton family gets bigger and before you know it, it's a family of the best characters that you've ever read about. And each of the Colton family has a story to tell. Even if danger is before them, their love holds no boundies for each other. Don't start the series unless you start with the first book, Apache Magic. That way you won't miss any of the story line. While reading, I could just see the actors on screen, in my mind. I can say I did some laughing and yes, tears came to my eyes at the painful and sad times. I know familes went through all of these hard times back in the 1800's. There is not any way you will be disappointed after buying the complete series of 6. And Amazon has each book priced so reasonible that you just can't pass all of them up. Enjoy your reading!!

I just really enjoyed this book-the characters were real and the plot was well written.I grew up in New Mexico and can remember seeing Geronimo's painted picture hanging in a restaurant near the Mescalero reservation. Also, Janis talked about Pete's Kitchen in Arizona, which Louis L'Amour had included many times in his stories. I just love historical stories and I know she took a writer's license to make some changes in her story but that was okay, after all it is a work of fiction based on history.

Great story of a difficult time period. Villians, redemption and hea. Love the strong female character, but at times she had a death wish. Strong yet sensitive hero. Some mysical events but not much to be a distraction or huge part of story.Some historical romance have whiney self centered heroines who only care about how society looks at them. If they annoy you like they do me, you will love this book.I rarely give great reviews, but this book deserves it.

Loved this story of Travis Colton & Daniella. Travis owns a large ranch in Texas and Daniella is taken hostage by Apaches from a stage on her way home from the east. This author is wonderful with always being conscious of what is going on in the story and carrying on conversations of several characters at the same time. You would be amazed at the authors who can not do more than a two person conversation. I recommend this story!

This is the third time I'm reading this series and the 1st time that I'll be able to read it in order, years ago when I was a teenager I borrowed as many of the Colton books from our public library that I could get my hands on, but they didn't have the complete series. I love this family, they're so devoted to each other, if you like well written stories that deals with Native Americans, Janis Reams Hudson is your go to girl. I'm presently settling in for more Colton family fun. Happy reading.

She tells those of us who are suffering to skip the entire first half of the book as deciphering the science will be too much in our severely ill state. I have begun, as she suggested, with the second half of the book which describes the diet. The idea is to return to the first half when one is feeling better and can best absorb the research. My personal physician agreed with switching from Paleo to Paleoketogenic as a trial. My personal physician agrees that ME/CFS seems to be 'located' in the nervous system. A high fat, low carbohydrate diet has been prescribed as a seizure preventative protocol my personal physician reminded me. This is completely inline with the notion that ME/CFS is, at the very least, stressing the nervous system. My personal theory is that is is a retrovirus which goes dormant in the nervous system and reactivates when patients are under stress. Of course, this is only one clue as many victims never get the least bit well. I have had relapsing/remitting ME/CFS for nearly 48 years, my entire adult life. Now in retirement, I am trying to treat my disease first with the idea that I might have some functioning years left to me. Please read about the #MILLIONSMISSING movement. We have been alone for almost a century now, abandoned by mainstream medicine which has earned my enduring loathing for its neglect of us.

So many things with my CFS clicked into place reading this book, especially possible reasons for my perpetual lactic-acid related fibromyalgia pain.I also appreciated how Dr. Myhill discusses the fact that it's tragic how the symptom -- chronic fatigue -- became the syndrome's most well-known name. How naming a disease after its primary symptom set it up for public doubt from the start.I definitely agree -- CFS needs a proper name, one that doesn't call the disease its primary symptom. But I guess until they figure out what's causing it we'll never know.She emphasizes that if one is chronically fatigued then there is a big red flag screaming that there's an underlying problem that needs to be uncovered not covered up with meds. And certainly not scoffed at ("Everyone's tired. Get over it and get your ass up and quit being lazy.") With CFS, that red flag appears to be telling us that body's ability to efficiently make and utilize ATP has been compromised.The good news is more and more doctors and researchers and members of the general public are recognizing that CFS is not a yuppie flu or a bunch of women whining about being tired. As Dr. Myhill puts it, "It's mitochondria, not hypochondria." Amen to that!

All I ever hear from my doctors is that they cannot help me because they've ever heard of ME. So get this book and begin following Myhill's protocol. Then get yourself to a good ME/CFS Specialist... there are about 6 practices in the country and wait lists are long when they are seeing new patients... clinical trials also can be beneficial (clinicaltrials.gov).

Dr Sarah Myhill has filled this book with so much information on how to heal the body from viruses, chronic fatigue, etc. She covers testing, supplements etc. Extremely helpful for those of us who have a family member with this challenge. Highly recommend!

It was a good engaging read. Very informative. I have CFS/ME and some of the reccomendations helped some. Not a panacea.

 This is a really interesting coloring book of Norse Mythology designs. Usually, Jade Summer books are focused on females; however, in this book, there is a full range of mythological characters including many men and some creatures.The designs have a very realistic look to them rather than a comic character type feel. The names of each character is included in the design. It is incorporated so well, it becomes part of the design and creates almost a storybook type feel to the entire book. There is a definite use of shading and cross hatching throughout which give the designs an almost sketch-like feel but leaves them still fairly easy to color.The designs are quite detailed and will take time to finish. While the designs have backgrounds, some are much more elaborate than others. The overall designs are not what I consider intricate as the elements to color do not require special small nib pens/markers. I am able to use a wide variety of coloring medium on these designs.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:30 unique designs (2 copies of each) based on Norse MythologyPaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing. There is a slight shadowing effect to the framing line which gives the image an almost 3D effect.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

I'm very disappointed by the quality of this book. The artwork is extremely pixelated as if someone enlarged a photo too much and then printed it on really terrible paper. I dislike trying to color against unclean lines when using pencils. Crisp, clean lines are so much better for details.To make this book even worse is the AWFUL paper quality. It is very low grade recycled paper that doesn't hold color and just smears and smears. So frustrating.It seems that everyone wants to sacrifice quality in order to save/make a buck. This is just terrible business practices and very lazy. No pride in one's products anymore. I miss the old days when people cared about well made, high quality materials.

I am a coloring book fanatic and my boyfriend decided to give it a try since I love it so much. We looked together for something he would be interested in and this is the one he picked. It is not my cup of tea but he loves it, he doesnt color obsessively like I do, but when he does color he seems to enjoy this book.

The art contained in this book is amazing! I only WISH I had your talent, Ms. Summer, and thank you for bringing books such as this available to us. You can let your imagination go wild and color anything any color your spleen desires - no, it's lungs, isn't it? Anyway, just the artwork alone is beautiful, and when you color it in, it beautifies it tenthousandfold. No, it's gallbladder, right? Yeah, gallbladder. Sooo, try this one out - there are illustrations of many of the Norse gods and goddesses, all represented so very well, it's really cool. Wait a minute, I got it - It's HEART! Any color your HEART desires! Sew, as I say, there ya go. Ya'll be cool. Bioman out

This is another hit from Jade Summer. Clearly, much research was done regarding the content of the book, with an abundance of characters, very detailed and correct. It's so easy to get locked away for hours while coloring this little gem, and you can be as detailed or simple as you wish. This book adds to my desire to collect all of her books, and I may already be a third of the way there!

I have just recently gotten into coloring in books again.This title ~ Norse Mythology: An Adult Coloring Book with Fun, Beautiful, and Relaxing Coloring Pages (Fantasy Gifts for Relaxation), is the first of Jade Summer's books purchased. It is a fun and interesting subject. With the names of each Norse god on the picture. Some people don't like that you get 2 copies of each picture to color. I don't mind, I like having a back up to either try in a different medium or in case I mess up the first one. The pics aren't difficult or too simple. Just enough in the pic to make it interesting, but not overwhelming. I have since then bought others of hers.

Awesome book, pictures are really detailed and I've had a lot of fun coloring them. I also like the black backing to prevent bleeding.That said, The paper quality is so so, my pro colored pencils do not seem to like the paper, and even light erasing has caused holes.Additionally, the repetition of pictures is odd. I know some artist give you 2 of the same picture so you can color it in various ways. Yet she only chose a handful to do this with - I rather have had more variety.Overall I am happy - this is definitely the nicest Norse Mythology art coloring book I have foud

I love this book! I have finished nearly all the images. It is filled with Norse gods all beautifully rendered! I had a blast coloring them. Many women goddesses are included.I love gods and goddesses coloring books!Also, many of them are full body drawings with backgrounds. Immensely enjoyable to color!
