This is the worst book that I've ever read!!!! Will not read anymore off her books really really low budget wasted off money
Trapped by the Sheikh is a love story, it describes how Katrina Crewe finds herself travelling to the Middle East to sell a very expensive piece of jewellery to his Royal Highness Sheikh Abdul Al Faiz. While there, herself and her body guard get a little too close and end up breaking a few rules. She finds herself in her bosses office being told she is to go alone and fly back to Kabil and apologise however she can to the Sheikh for her misdemeanours. Katrina finds the Sheikh offering to fulfil her wildest dreams and he wasn't wrong but she finds herself feeling somewhat imprisoned and tries to run on a few occasions. All love stories have their bumps in the road but she does get her happy ending even with a few twists.This book was a short read and I did find it hard to get into but I continued. It was well researched and at times gave the reader an insight as to how women are treated and what their lives are like in the Middle East especially when involved with a billionaire.It was a standalone but I guess from the way it ended a follow up could be written. I was given a copy of this and I do feel people would enjoy it.
In ‘Trapped by the Sheikh’ we follow Katrina Crewe’s travels to the Middle East to sell expensive jewelry to a billionaire sheikh. But Katrina finds herself in unexpected circumstances when instead of the sale going ahead as planned it becomes apparent that the sheikh wants more from her than the jewels she is selling. With limitless power at his disposal the sheikh lures Katrina into bed with alluring promises of fulfilling her every wish. As the story progresses we learn more about both of the pair. The biggest question posed is whether she will manage to escape. Although this was not one of the best-written books I have ever read, I have to say that from the moment I began reading, I couldn’t put it down and really enjoyed every moment of it. The plot-line made up for any shortfall in the writing skills s the story was both intriguing and captivating with extremely well-developed characters who were easy to empathise with. I can definitely recommend this as an intriguing read for anyone looking at adventures in the Middle East! Five stars for effort!
“Trapped by The Sheik†has all the ingredients for a fantastic intriguing story. Set in the exotic desert country with the wealth and power of a handsome Sheik and an attractive jeweler, the potential for fireworks was on every page.I found parts of the plot to be naive and lacking in surprise. For example the use of alcohol in Muslim countries is a serious offence and so the trouble that Katrina got into because of it was no surprise to me.Though the character of Katrina was a bit immature, her hopes and dreams are as real as any single young woman looking for love. The writing was clear and exposed the heart of young lovers. A good, quick read.
To be honest, I'm a little confused about how I feel about Trapped by the Sheikh. It feels a little rape-y to me, with the constant unwanted passes to the main character, by multiple men. The story centers on her being essentially held hostage by the Sheikh, yet she develops feelings for him. I know this happens sometimes in hostage situations, but this book seems to romanticize it. It just seems sort of strange to me, all around. However, I found myself unable to put it down. It is a very easy read, and reads as if an every day person wrote it. This makes the pages fly by and I was done reading before I knew it. I guess I will be looking for more by this author.
THIS BOOK! WOW! I LOVED this book. Why? It had everything I was looking for and more....The characters are very well developed and I felt great empathy with the heroine. Can't wait to see what else Lane has to offer in the FABULOUS Sheikh series.
